Цели:

  • Развитие интереса к культуре страны изучаемого языка.
  • Расширение кругозора учащихся.

Задачи:

  • Выявить уровень владения учащимися пройденного страноведческого материала;
  • Воспитывать у учащихся культуру общения;
  • Способствовать обучению взаимодействия в коллективе;
  • Расширять словарный запас учащихся;
  • Развивать творческие способности учащихся, приобщая их к английскому языку, поэзии, музыке, танцам.

Ход занятия

Игра по станциям «Around the UK» проводится для обобщения знаний учащихся о культуре страны изучаемого языка. Учащиеся получают страноведческие знания, занимаясь по УМК Биболетовой М.З. Enjoy English для 5 класса.  В игре участвуют команды учащихся 5-х классов. На мой взгляд, учебник не дает достаточно полных сведений о культуре страны изучаемого языка. Игра по станциям разработана и проведена с целью восполнить недостаток информации, связанной с частями Соединённого Королевства. Как правило, большая доля информации об англоязычных странах посвящена Англии. Для систематического ознакомления со страноведческим материалом я провожу кружок по изучению иноязычной культуры, страноведения и лингвострановедения, включая материал, посвящённый Шотландии, Уэльсу и Северной Ирландии.

Перед началом игры учитель знакомит участников с задачами и условиями конкурсных заданий. Каждая команда имеет эмблему и название. Капитан представляет команду и получает маршрутный лист.  Каждая группа, получив задание, идёт своим маршрутом. На станциях работают учителя и старшеклассники, которые выдают задания, делают отметки в маршрутных листах, проставляют баллы. Станции располагаются в разных частях, вывешены таблички с названиями. При выставлении баллов учитывается быстрота и правильность выполнения задания.

Соревнование состоит из нескольких конкурсов-этапов: « Шотландия», « Англия», «Уэльс», «Северная Ирландия». После путешествия по Британским островам учащимся предлагается посмотреть презентацию «The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland» как результат совершённой ими экскурсии. В это время жюри подводит итоги.

Материалы игры могут быть использованы на уроках и во внеурочной деятельности. В данной работе представлена разработка мероприятия и презентация «Соединённое Королевство Великобритании и Северной Ирландии».
